This past Friday night, the Majors hosted their Third Annual Awards Banquet at Stage West Hotel and Theatre Restaurant. A total of 9 awards were presented throughout the evening. In addition to the award presentations, there were also presentations honouring the Majors billets and overage players. Those in attendance were also treated to an inside look at the Mastercard Memorial Cup bid presentation as a special taped message from Mayor McCallion was aired. The night was highlighted by speeches and presentations from Majors Alternate Governor and Executive Vice-President Duncan Stauth as well as a speech from Majors General Manager and Head Coach Dave Cameron.
The evening gave fans, parents, billets, sponsors, players and staff an opportunity to celebrate the teams accomplishments from this past season as well as recognize some recent individual accomplishments. Specifically, everyone in attendance was able to congratulate Stuart Percy on being named to the National Under-18 Team Selection Camp, Tom Frater for being named the Equipment Manager for Canada’s National Under-18 Team, Casey Cizikas for being invited to Canada’s World Junior Team Selection Camp and Dave Cameron for being named the Head Coach for Canada’s National Junior Team.
