Majors Alumni Q&A

The Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors will be catching up with select alumni throughout the summer, profiling players who have recently gone off on their own paths to success in life. Whether they have continued to play hockey in the pro leagues or not, each person has a story to tell.

There has always been a deeply rooted tradition within the St. Michael’s Majors organization where everyone works and strives to be the best they can be. It all starts with team work. If you took a walk through the Majors dressing room today, a couple of plaques can be found in the video replay and fitness rooms that present our current creed, something that Majors General Manager and Head Coach Dave Cameron strongly believes in:

“Most teams have guys who want to win but aren’t willing to do what it takes. What it takes is to give yourself over to the team and play your part. That may not always make you happy, but you’ve got to do it, because when you do, that’s when you win”, a statement made by James William “Bill” Cartwright, an assistant coach and former athlete in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

When you win as a team, you win as an individual, and in life.  There is no doubt that St. Mike’s has bred leaders and champions, both on and off the ice, and will certainly continue to do so in the years to come. With that said, the Majors would like to thank all alumni who have dedicated their time and effort to the team in the past, and in keeping the Majors winning tradition alive today.
