Meet the Mississauga Maniac!
On October 14th, 2007, prior to the Majors home game against Peterborough, a Petes fan somehow made his way onto the ice, and taunted the Majors fans who were eager to support their team. The Maniac would have none of it. As his favourite song came on the sound system and the zamboni entrance filled with smoke, the Maniac pulled on his new # 34 Majors jersey, jumped in his golf cart and took to the ice. The Maniac circled the Petes fan who was obviously startled by this visitor. Then the Maniac got out of his cart and showed the Petes fan the exit.
A new member had officially joined the Majors family! The Maniac spent the rest of the season entertaining the crowd, sticking up for his fellow fans and earning a reputation in the community as one of the best mascots in the Ontario Hockey League. He will surely be a member of the team for years to come!
